Surround Care Purpose Built to Meet Challenges

St. Louis, MO - December 21, 2022 - In this Surround Care Social Media Video we hear from some executives who share some of healthcare's biggest challenges and how Surround Care was purpose-built to fix those problems.

A transcript of the video is below.

Courtney Fortner

Surround care is purpose. To address a national agenda, we're working to transform how care is delivered across the country. Surround care does this by surrounding the physician and the providers with a team, with resources, with capabilities, with tools that they want and that they need to really provide the care that they wanna provide for their patients.

Rishi Sud, MD

How can we bring the joy back to medicine and, and, you know, do what we want to do for our own families, which is keep them well, instead of take care of them after they get sick.

Susan Adams, MD

The doctors should feel not like they're on the hamster wheel of frustration, but empowered, um, to, to continue to deliver excellent healthcare

Courtney Fortner

Surround care surrounds the patient by ensuring that they're having the right care delivered at the right time and in the right place.

Susan Adams

But I love the idea of creating some centers of excellence in the St. Louis area and potentially throughout the country and some of, uh, NAMI's existing markets and maybe some new more markets so that we might help patients with some of the things that are difficult for them, whether it's transportation, uh, prior, all three authorizations of prescriptions that are difficult.

Rishi Sud, MD

It's about marrying up the culture of what ESSA has created with the technology and the ways that we can simplify things the way what, uh, novice has mastered. And I think that's exciting and something really unique.

Susan Adams, MD

If we can turn the existing model a little bit sideways, not on its head, but sideways, so that we again, value the primary care physician, again, value the people on the ground giving care, whether that's, um, the nurse practitioner, the dietician, the care manager, the social work, and empower everybody to work together to do what's right for the patient. Everybody's gonna have a better quality of life as a caregiver. And of course, you know, the patients will have better outcomes and better satisfaction as well.

Rishi Sud, MD

I'm excited to change the way we deliver healthcare and moving towards a model that just makes sense for everybody.

Courtney Fortner

So transforming healthcare is bigger than any one organization. So surround care, really allowing like-minded organizations to come together to join forces is what we're about, and we're very excited about the journey up to this point and the journey to come.
