INSynergy’s Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
St. Louis, MO – May 17, 2022
– As a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at INSynergy, Jordan Malone
sees patients when they are at the lowest of lows.
“The job is challenging because you see so much potential for our patients and you see how much they are struggling,” Jordan says. “It is difficult to see them in the situation they are in, but it is so rewarding at the same time because we are able to help.”
Jordan has both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in nursing and is a board-certified mental health psychiatric nurse practitioner.
“Everyone here at INSynergy is invested in our patients,” Jordan says. “I am meant to do this work.”
Jordan started at INSynergy as a receptionist right after high school.
“I remember the first day Jordan came here, she was so wide eyed and young back then and look at her now, she’s a nurse practitioner,” says Doctor Aruro Taca Jr., the Medical Director of INSynergy. “She is seeing her own patients and she is writing medications and developing treatment plans. I am so proud of Jordan.”
One reason Jordan especially enjoys working at INSynergy is that her sister Hannah works with her as INSynergy’s Program Coordinator. But Jordan is also committed to INSynergy because she believes deeply in INSynergy’s approach to treating drug and alcohol dependence not as a moral failing, but as the medical condition it is – often tied to undiagnosed physical or mental illness.
“I will help them evaluate that underlying condition so we can treat that,” Jordan says. “And we get them feeling better so we can give them the best chance at gaining their sobriety.”
Her colleagues at INSynergy see her commitment to helping patients and continuing to learn.
“Jordan has a huge urge to learn as much as she can,” says Ashley Halker, INSynergy’s Director of Operations. “Even after she finished her nurse practitioner (test), she immediately picked up more books literally the weekend after she passed her test to learn something new. I said ‘take a break’, but no.”
Jordan is passionate and dedicated to assisting patients to meet their personalized goals as they continue their journey to healing.
“It is just awesome to say that we help guide them along the way. They did the work, but we were guiding them and supporting them,” Jordan says. “I am blessed to be able to be a part of something so great.”
